Our School
Welcome to Curry’s Post Primary School, a beacon of hope nestled in the Kwazulu-Natal Midlands. For over three decades, we've been committed to providing a transformative education to local rural children from low-income families, some of whom face the challenges of being orphaned or under the care of extended family members. The school provides a safe and happy place for these children, as well as a nutritious cooked meal every day.
Education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty, and at Curry’s Post Primary School, we believe in unlocking every opportunity for our students to succeed. Our dedicated team ensures that every child has access to regular computer lessons, a privilege not commonly accessible to rural children. Through volunteer-led reading groups and a well-stocked library, we've witnessed a significant improvement in literacy and English skills among our students.
But our impact extends beyond the school gates. The IT Centre, generously supported by the N3 Toll Company, offers free computer lessons, CV assistance, and email support to the wider community. Local businesses benefit from staff training programmes, positively impacting the lives of many young people in the area.
Recent achievements include renovating our IT Centre, upgrading computers, extending and upgrading our school kitchen, maintaining and painting our school hall and classrooms, improving the sports field, and securing free mentorship for our Grade R teacher.
The school is greatly valued by the local community and provides a sense of stability in the area.
At Curry’s Post Primary School, we’re not just shaping minds; we're transforming lives and building a brighter future for generations to come.
